Supporting Family, Friends and Neighbors Who Care for Our Children The forum on Supporting the Family, Friends and Neighbors Who Care for Our Children was convened in April 2001 by the Human Services Policy Center and the Washington Child Care Resource and Referral Network. This forum was convened in conjunction with research we are conducting on Family, Friends and Neighbors care for the Department of Social and Health Services. The research report released February 2002 is entitled, Understanding Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care in Washington State: Developing Appropriate Training and Support. Participants represented a wide variety of organizations including: City of Seattle Project Lift Off, Child Care Action Council, Head Start State Collaboration Office, City of Seattle Division of Family and Youth Services, US Department of Labor Women's Bureau, Highline Head Start Puget Sound ESD, School's Out Consortium, Child Care Resources, Children's Initiative - United Way of King County, DSHS - Child Care Division, Seattle Public Library, and the Governor's Executive Policy Office.
