State of Washington's Children, Spring 2000 Report
Full Report (235k)
The State of Washington's Children-Spring 2000 provides comprehensive statistics on the education, health, safety, family and economic lives of the children in Washington state. In this year's report, we look back with a sense of accomplishment on the successes for children and families during the past 100 years. We have made great progress in infant mortality, education, and life expectancy. Yet today's children face challenges and obstacles that are unique to the 21st Century. These include drug use, violence, and indifference from their communities, schools, and adults. We see these obstacles as opportunities for all of us to come together and find solutions so that our children can lead happy, healthy, safe lives in the new century.
