- focused on rural communities, and outlined two tracks to rural success. In each of five areas – economic well-being, education, health, family & community, and safety & security – data from rural communities were compared with those from urban and suburban areas of the state.
Listening to Learn: Stories from Rural Northwest Families (8MB)- provides a portrait of family life in eight rural communities in Washington and Oregon. Quantitative data are used to broaden the stories told by parents in a series of focus groups that tapped the cultural and ethnic diversity of communities in transition.
